For Aveda, the problem with common scents
hi
I have worked for aveda in different capacities in 2007-2008, but no longer work for them.
As an employee, I was also trying to do a lot of research while working there, reading ingredients ect., and no one could ever quite tell me to what
degree they were 'natural'.
I mean, from what I could see in plain writing, they use parabens, all kinds of harmful & carcinogenic preservatives, and last but not least, not
one could say weather or not the fragrance compounda in the products were 100% natural, and I am still dying to know.
I have even tries calling the 1-800 number on the products, with specific questions, and they are very elusive, and would, for example, not disclose
the % of essential oil in their 'singular notes' collection. I brought up allergy and sensitivity issues, they assured me I would in no way react,
but would not answer the question.
I also asked, in regard to a patchouli singular note (aka- patchouli eo in frac. coconut oil) why other chemicals were listed under ingredients- i was
told they are the chemicals found in patchouli oil, and must be listed, however, after consulting with several ppl., websites and eo monographs, these
chemicals were not listed or known as constituents of patchouli.
Needless to say, I found it all very frustrating.
Does anyone know more about this company in regards to weather or not they use synthetic fragrance chemicals in their compounds?
thanks!
natalie
